Monitor flood and traffic situation in Bangkok via hundreds of CCTV cameras through out the city.

This is another one of those apps for the iPhone that helps you with traffic in Bangkok. It is called BKKWatch and it basically gives you a map showing locations of traffic cams around Bangkok. Click on the icons and you then get a live picture of that road. They all seemed to work for me though judging by the timestamp some were more than an hour old. But, at least it will show you which roads are still flooded as you can see in the screenshot below. In addition to finding traffic cams with the map, there is also a list option where you can see the names in both Thai and English.

Unfortunately this is not working on my (Canadian) iPhone. Although my iPhone software is “up to date” the app says it needs a more recent version…which obviously doesn’t exist here in Canada. Too bad as this looks fascinating.
Not shooting the messenger, but this is not all that useful. Screen shots (stills) and about an hour after the event is not helpful really.
Some I checked were only 5 minutes old. I guess it depends on the location. This is also a case of don’t shoot the app developer as it is powered by itraffy.
